We closed on our ugly house today! This has been in the works for what seems like forever so we are excited to call it ours! Though we probably should have started on the dirty work the moment we closed, we decided to cheers to our new adventure and enjoy the pool with family!
On the business end of things, we finalized our paint colors for the house today. This sounds really easy, and may be for normal people, but I am TERRIBLE at making decisions. Especially decisions that are design related. And decisions involving choosing paint colors. Generally I like to go to Lowes, browse through a few colors, pick one and head home and splash it on the walls. Then when I’m done with an entire room I realize, wow, that’s ugly. With that being said, I did lots of research this time around. Since I can’t make decisions easily and have proven I am not a paint picking pro, I let the painters of Pinterest make my decisions for me. I knew I wanted to go with gray for the walls but seriously messed that up in our current bedroom. What appeared to be gray on a swatch looks baby blue on our walls. One of my many paint fails… The painters of Pinterest seem to love Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter (a warm gray), so that will coat the walls in our living room and all of our common areas. The trim and ceilings will be painted White Dove, which is another Benjamin Moore color. Lastly, Conleigh’s room and our guest bathroom will be Sherwin Williams Sea Salt.
The painters are coming in next week to begin work so that will be the moment of truth. Hopefully next week I am posting about paint success!
